Mechanic,as most call him, started out DJing early in life. In 1984, during his high school years, he decided to make DJing into a career.Along with his partner, Dee J Dee, they would DJ house parties, school functions and radio shows - whatever venue needed music. With this experience intact it wasn't hard for the Body Mechanic known then as Mix Master Mollison to take it to the next level.
1990,The Body Mechanic joined forces with the hottest record label
in Detroit. Hitting Home Records needed a DJ and who better fit the
card than DJ Body Mechanic. With the blessing of Hitting Home, Mechanic
got the opportunity to record withRap Mafia, Papa J Smooth, and hip-hop
legend Kurtis Blow. In 1994, after the disbursement of Hitting
Home Records, Body Mechanic needed something to do! In comes Sconi
Records, who had a rap project and wanted DJ Body Mechanic to produce
it. The outcome was the 19-track classic LP Game Is to Be Sold, Not Told by Beastside Crew. DJ Body Mechanic also started his own label, Rockhead Records and released Git It, Git It/ Weed Head by Designated Hoodlums. This 12” single put DJ Body Mechanic on the booty/bass map. From
that point DJ Body Mechanic with the help of h3o, started covering
everything from mix tapes and street promotions to promoting the
"livest" events around Detroit. 1995 - Started spinning at the Brass Key Lounge (T & A) 1996 - Produced a radio show on 88.1FM, "The Dick Whyte Show" 1997 - h3o Entertainment released the underground mixed video "h3oizm" which showed the freaky exploits of h3o inside and outside the studio 1999 - Launched the website www.h3omusic.com 2000 - Body Mechanic released the 12" EP Weed, Sex & Alcohol featuring "Git It,Git It (remix)", "PTDIYM", "5's, 10's & 20's", and "Throw Yo Hands Up". This was followed up by the full length CD Ghetto Technology, both on Playa 1 Records 2002 - DJ Body Mechanic signed with Electrofunk Records. There he released the 12" Peace of Mine/The Danze, which is now a club banger 2005 - The Body Mechanic graced the stage at Detroit's Fuse-In (DEMF) for a four-turntable set with B. Calloway 2005 - Internet Only Releases: Training Day (Detroit Rap) and High Energy (Ghetto Tech) 2006 - Body Mechanic made the Final Four in the Pepsi DJ Contest - Detroit 2006 - Made the Top 16 in Dickride.com's International DJ of the year 2006 2007 - Body Mechanic produced the single "Little Sally Walker" on the re-launched Sconi Records by Beastside Crew 2007 - DJ Body Mechanic's "The Doo" is released on Submerge Recordings Compilation Follow the Leader 2 2007 - Released International Code h3o, a full length mix CD with songs produced by the Body Mechanic DJ Body Mechanic has kept the adult clubs in Detroit rocking for over 13 years and counting.
